You will need data-recovery software, provided you have NOT used the computer much since deletion as some new files could have over written the space used by the deleted files.

Question by Ruthie: How do I recover lost photos and work? Vista was erased and XP was put on my Sony Vaio, I lost everything.?
I had Vista taken off my computer and XP put on. I forgot to save my pictures and they were deleted when XP was put on.

Now, none of my laptop feature work with XP. I am going back to Vista, but before I do I would like to recover these photos. Does anyone know how to go about this? Thank you.

Would anyone also know how to go about putting Vista back on/restoring factory setting either?

What’s gone is gone, they were overwritten and deleted when you installed over the other OS.

How to delete undeletable files? Using Vista?

Question by Kevin S: How to delete undeletable files? Using Vista?
Occasionally, i get these files that I can’t delete. For example, now I’m dealing with an old graphing program I haven’t used for months, and it says one of the files is always opened by another program. How do I get rid of these pesky things?

Thanks for your help.
