Using windows xp, without reformatting and without using disk wiping software like sdelete or darik’s boot and nuke

Delete personal files from drive C:
Delete all files in recyble bin
FILL UP hard disk space with random files, like movies.

Does this overwrite my deleted files so that no one would be able to recover them?

i have an old hp620 digital camera and i think my memory card is corrupt. i went to put the pics on my computer and it said i had no data on my card. i had 58 pics on that card, i didnt delete a thing. i was curious and took more pics. i can only fit 12 pics w/o my lcd saying the card is full. i have a 64mb sandisk card for it. i kno my images HAVE to still be there. i cant find any free software to recover them and i dont even know if i can get my images back. i had pictures from a vacation i was excited to get on my computer. what sucks is that my computer is a windows 98…unless im at my fathers house, i can use a windows XP. If anybody has any advice whatsoever, it would be very helpful to me. i also had a couple pics from when my brother came to see me and i havnt seen him in 3 years. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I could not get my P.C to come on one morning and I preformed a system restore. I didnot know that this would DELETE all my precious photos documents and files.I need this info back badly.I have windows xp Compaq pasiaro p.c from walmart..is there any way to recover my lost info or is it lost forever..?Could I take it to bestbuy or staples and ask them to recover info?.Do they do that kind of stuff?or is there sum kind of recover c.d I could buy?
